Papped!

Here I am making a cameo appearance in a promotional video for Knock Ireland West Airport and Lily O'Briens Chocolate, landing G-FLBC at 21 seconds in (didn't even get an egg out of it!)

The Dream...

My own story began at an early age, when I spontaneously decided one day that I quite liked the idea of becoming a pilot (strangely, I can still remember the exact moment, driving in the car on the way home from Ledbury). Something about the job spoke to me, promising a happy, exciting and very different existence.
My Dad didn't help, occasionally taking me on road trips to the runway viewing platform atop the Queen's Building at Heathrow Terminal 2 (sadly demolished in 2009 and never properly replaced...). They call it, "Living the Dream", and it's a dream I have always been chasing.

Flybe Version 2.0

As the COVID pandemic receded, a small team of investors and former managers cobbled together the funds to relaunch Flybe, using the company's aircraft and legacy slots carried over since 2020. I was to play a significant role in the Flight Operations team, helping to setup the majority of the new airline's systems, including the flight planning, electronic briefing platform and performance.

The airline recommenced flying in 2021 and started carrying passengers in early 2022. I returned to flying in March, after 2 years out of the cockpit, on the inaugural Leeds Bradford to London Heathrow route (EGNM → EGLL). Here is a video shot by one of the passengerds, which includes a cringey "Welcome on Board" PA from yours truly.
